2016 Saratoga CTC Event

Our TBF Junior Clubs of New York State participated in our Inaugural CLUB TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP (CTC) at Saratoga Lake on Sunday, August 21st.

Good Ole Boys - 1st Place

Two out of our three Junior Bass Clubs were able to participate. Legacy Junior Bass Club drove from Red Hook, NY and the Good Ole Boys Junior Bassmaster’s traveled from Central Square, NY. Unfortunately our Adirondack Anglers could not make the trip and were sorely missed.

Legacy Jr Bass - 2nd Place

We camped and trailered for a few nights at Lee’s Park and surrounding Hotels/Motels and launched our boats from the State Launch.

This Junior Club TEAM Championship event is similar in style to the FLW Cup Event - held once a year where the top anglers are invited to compete in the event.

Similar to the adults, our anglers compete with each other all year long with the hope to finish in the top of the field so as to qualify for this event. The top six anglers plus an alternate angler (3 or 4 SAF High School members and/or 3 or 4 Junior’s) are then selected at years end to compete in the CTC the following year.

A huge thank you must go out to all the parents that traveled to Saratoga, NY and supported their respective youngsters.

A big thank you as well, to the gracious Boaters who drove their rigs for hours and spent 8 hours supporting our youngsters on tournament day.

Additionally, a big thank you must go to our NY TBF Tournament Director for bringing the State trailer, weighing in the fish, presenting the awards and trophy.

The competition was fierce, but when the weigh-in was complete, the winning Club were the 6 proud members of the Good Ole Boys Junior Bassmaster’s Club.

Every youngster that participated in the weekend event received a medallion and tee-shirts. A drawing was held and a free fishing rod was awarded to one of the anglers.

The winning Club received a trophy and now has bragging rights for one year – stating that they are the best Bass Club in New York State. This trophy will be in their possession for one year and the Club must present this trophy to the winning Club, the following year.

BassPro Shops - Free Catch & Release Pond Fishing Weekend

The TBF Good Ole Boys Junior Bassmaster's Club of Central New York traveled to the Bass Pro Shop in Auburn, NY - to assist the hundreds of youngsters that visited Bass Pro with their parents to enjoy the FREE CATCH & RELEASE POND FISHING WEEKEND!

It was great to experience the jumping, screaming and laughing of youngsters as they caught trout from the pond, many of them for the first time! Carpenters Brook Fish Hatchery of Elbridge, NY set-up the pond, stock the trout and maintain the pond the entire weekend, each and every year!

This is also a great experience for our Club members and parents as we join forces with the Bass Pro management & employees in Auburn to introduce this wonderful sport to a young generation of children with a hope that many of them can enter the world of angling, environmental conservation and the preservation of God's gift and our natural resources.
